Erm... What The Hive? (A Brief Blog Exposition)

    Hello! I'm Jordan, aka. The Bug Guy, aka. The Insect Extraordinaire, aka. Mr. "Hey dude what's this bug I found." 

    For a long time, I've been photographing and learning about all sorts of insects in my everyday life. Bugs have always interested me since I was a child and as I've grown up I've learned a lot there is to know about them.  I've wanted to figure out a way to share it with the world in a concise and well written way but I've never quite been able to find a place to put out these feelings. However, now that I've started my Social Media Writing class, it has allowed me to make this blog to show my passion for bugs and show my appreciation for them like never before.

    So that begs the question... What exactly am I writing? You might be screaming "BUGS!" at your screen right now, and you'd definitely be correct, but what exactly about bugs will I be discussing? Well there's a lot to discuss about bugs! On this blog, I'll be showcasing different images that I've taken of insects around my city and other places that I visit and explaining what exactly they are. I'll be giving basic descriptions of the insect, such as what they eat, how long it takes them to metamorphosize, and even how they protect themselves from predators. 
    On top of this, I want to explain more abstract things outside of just the basic biology of these creatures. For instance, I want to showcase how these different bugs can affect the local environment, whether that be good or bad. I also want to explain the symbolism and history of these bugs and what they represent in ancient cultures, religions and even modern art pieces or literature! 
    I hope that by reading these blog posts, you're able to gain a deeper understanding of bugs and learn to appreciate the little things in life, like this Grape Colaspis Beetle!
